Living at

Vedashram

Vedashram is nestled in between beautiful forested mountains, far enough away from the hustle and bustle of city life to be a haven of serenity, but close enough to be accessible for any necessities. Here, we have created a community of like-minded seekers who follow the teachings of the vedas, ashtanga yoga, mantras, rituals, ayurveda, and siddha medicines and practices. Vedashram follows an ancient Indian teaching style called ‘Gurukul’ in which students, or ‘shishyas’, and their guru live nearby or together in the same house like a family.

The name comes from the Sanskrit word ‘guru’, meaning teacher, and ‘kul’, meaning domain. The full meaning being, “domain or family of the guru”. Ashram-wide spiritual routines, classes, rituals, rules and regulations are carried out daily with the intent to cultivate a focused atmosphere of spiritual evolution and self-realization through selfless action.Bunk bed dormitories overlooking the mountains, kitchen, eating area, auditorium, amphitheater and multi-stall bathrooms are accessible for all volunteers of Vedashram.
